| Additional Information: | 2019 The Lakeside School District No. 13 school, constructed in 1922-1923, is a two-story building, rectangular in plan, set on a raised basement, and with a flat roof with parapet. A tall one-story gymnasium addition, likely a later addition, projects from the north (side) elevation of the building. The building is clad in red brick with cast stone door surrounds, sills, and decorative accents. A string course caps the basement story, and a modest, slightly projecting cornice moulding caps the second story. The building displays modest elements associated with Collegiate Gothic style, including slightly projecting end bays; large, multi-light windows; recessed, arched entryways; and small square decorative blocks with stylized Tudor roses. Although the school retains its original steel doors with multi-light transoms, all other windows appear to be recent replacements. |
