Additional Information: | 2018 - Altered façade/storefront (2018) This commercial building was historically three separate storefronts. A photograph from the 1940s shows that buildings historically had a brick facade with decorative corbeling and a prominent cornice at the eastern storefront. A historical account of RC Gifts at 122 Walnut Street indicates that the current occupant, Red Cross Pharmacy, has been at 146 Walnut Street since at least the 1960s. The building is slightly visible in a 1960s postcard showing downtown Spooner. The existing awning is not visible, nor is the metal and wood cladding that characterizes the facade today. This suggests that the current facade is less than fifty years old. |
