NOTES
Additional Information:Although the house appears to date to the 1920s, the first available information states that A.H. Lawler operated a tavern at this location in 1941. Lawler maintained his tavern until at least 1954 and sold it to Joe LoCicero around 1956 at which time it became LoCicero’s Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge. LoCicero hired in 1962 the architecture firm of Tannenbaum & Koehnen to build a substantial brick-clad dining room and bar addition to the front of the tavern. The business became the Hunan-Peking Restaurant in 1982 and has operated since 1999 as Gene’s Supper Club under the direction of Eugene Smith.
