Additional Information: | Known by the call letters WITI, the station began as an independent station, first airing in 1956 and with an original studio in Mequon. Two years later, it was purchased by Storrer Broadcasting and became a CBS affiliate. In 1961, WITI and WISN switched affiliations and WITI became ABC. In 1977, they switched back and the station built the subject facility in Brown Deer and moved from their studio in Milwaukee. The facility was designed in 1976 by Brust-Zimmerman of Milwaukee and completed in 1977-78. Finally, in 1994, WITI affiliated with Fox. Ownership of the station has changed numerous times since Storrer sold it in 1985; however, it is currently owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. |
