Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property named 'Villa Louis'. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This circular plan stone well head is located on the west lawn of Villa Louis and it is a reconstruction of the well that once served Fort Crawford. The present well head was built ca.1939 by the WPA work crews who also built the current Fort Crawford Blockhouse at Villa Louis, conducted an archaeological excavation of the site of the Fort, and outlined that site with cemented stones. #12633 #12634 #12635 #12636 #12637 #12638 #12639 #234139 #234143 #234144 #234145 #234146 #234147 #234148 |
