NOTES
Additional Information:2016- "Rising two stories, this two-story, commercial building with brick parapet and a flat roof generally consists of common brick. The N. Teutonia Avenue elevation, however, features terra cotta trim along the first floor and orange-tone face brick on the upper level. A central, recessed archway (which is too small for an entrance and was likely infilled with glass) is located between the original pair of storefront display windows which have since been infilled with concrete block. Later entrances into each commercial space have since been boarded over, as have the small glass-block windows. Two, one-over-one-light, four-window arrangements line the second floor, while an arched, multiple-pane window opening is located at the center. All three window openings are trimmed with terra cotta, as is the parapet. The south side of the building is immediately adjacent to another building, while the visible north elevation includes double-hung windows only along the second floor."
-"N Teutonia Ave: W Groeling Ave to W Capitol Dr", WisDOT#2080-00-02, Prepared by Heritage Research, Inc. (Schnell), (2017).

Built in 1927 by the Wald Investment Company, this building was erected at an approximate cost of $14,500 and originally included two stores (first floor) and three flats (one two-bedroom unit on the first floor and two, three-bedroom units upstairs). Permit information indicates that the building was initially owned by The Milwaukee Electric Railway Company (and through at least 1937). While one of the stores appears to have stood vacant for some time, the other commercial space was initially occupied (as of 1930) by the Sanger-Kailing Co., electricians, the firm of which would later own the building. Sanger Co., as it was later known, remained in the building through 1960; KAP Electric is identified as operating out of the building as of 1970. The other commercial space was home to a variety of businesses, including a shoe repair shop (1933) and a deli (1940-1950). In 1960, fire damaged the first floor, resulting in the remodeling of the two storefronts into a single commercial space. The building is currently owned by the City of Milwaukee.
