Additional Information: | 2017- "This c.1920, one-and-one-half-story, front-gable residence has a poured-concrete foundation and tile block walls. The gable roof is covered with standing seam metal and features knee braces in the gable ends and wide shed dormers on the north and south (side) elevations. A gable entry porch enclosed with screens projects on the south side of the front (east) facade, accessed via modern wood steps. The dormer walls, soffits, knee braces, and the peak of the porch gable are clad in vinyl replacement siding. Windows are vertically divided, three-over-one, double-hung sash, and window openings have flat concrete sills and headers. The property was the last of several buildings that housed an operator-controlled switchboard for local telephone service in Gilmanton and often served as the home of the operator.30 It now functions as a private residence." -"STH 88: CTH U to STH 37", WisDOT#7730-02-30, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc., (2017). |
