The Henry L. Palmer Masonic Lodge No. 301 of the Free and Accepted Masons was organized in Milwaukee in 1913. The masons constructed a non-extant lodge at 2640-2650 North 1st Street in Milwaukee the same year and named it after Henry Palmer, a masonic leader, president of the Wisconsin Mutual Life Insurance Company, and a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate during the late nineteenth century. Lodge No. 301 occupied the building in Milwaukee through 1959, when the building was demolished. The lodge constructed a new contemporary lodge, which features architectural elements of the previous lodge buildings, in Wauwatosa in 1962.
