LOG HOMESTEAD & MANY OTHER SMALL COTTAGESBUILT OF NATIVE MATERIALS IN FREE-FORMEXPRESSIONIS STYLE [Date Cnst:-1955] Wilmot Swanson was a woodsman and trapper who from 1920s to 50s constructed a series of whimsical stone tourist cabins using native stone in a gaudiesque fashion. The most elaborate of these is his "gingerbread house" pictured on the survey card. The grounds include wandering paths with "elfin" gates and turnstiles.
