NOTES
Additional Information:2015- "Displaying limited elements of the Art Deco style, this two-story, brick commercial building is topped with a flat roof. The storefront facing W. Vliet displays modern plate glass and a recessed entrance, while the storefront that fronts N 13th Street is infilled with wood. A stone corner pier inscribed with Art Deco detailing rests at the northeast corner. The remainder of the building is defined by plain brick pilasters, brick paneling and windows infilled with modern materials. The parapet appears to have been remodeled with plain brick. J.C. Penney Co. erected this building in 1930 and maintained a presence until 1961. The building has housed a series of furniture stores ever since." -"W Vliet St, N 27th St (west) to N 12th St (east)", WISDot 2984-00-03, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (Brian J. Faltinson & Traci E. Schnell), 2015. *2022 - Resurvey by HRL for WisDOT project. Little or no change since 2015.
