| Additional Information: | Parcel includes two buildings: a circa 1965 restaurant with sign reading "Richards / COFFEE SHOP / DINING ROOM / Cocktails" (AHI #230710) and a circa 1970 motel (AHI #230711). 2015- "Richards Coffee Shop (AHI #230710) was built around 1965, based on local assessor records. It is a one-story building with an exposed basement which fronts onto a surface parking lot. The building is clad in vertical boards and has large, fixed-light windows. The building exhibits Contemporary-style elements, including an open grid of columns which forms a screen facade across the wall of the upper story dining room. This effect is repeated, at a smaller scale, on the street fagade. The most dramatic component of the building is the large freestanding sign, which reads "Richards / COFFEE SHOP / DINING ROOM / Cocktails", emphasized by a large arrow with marquee lights, and capped by two orange globe lights." - "Forest/Marinette county line- CTH O", WisDOT #1590-16-00/71, Prepared by UWM-CRM (2015). |
