Additional Information: | 2015- "This modest, brick, vernacular house is constructed of stretcher brick. It consists of a one-and-one-half-story gabled block to the southwest that is oriented to N. Green Bay Road and the notthwest, to the left of which is a perpendicularly-placed, slightly shatter one-and-one-half story wing projecting to the northeast. The main entrance is set within a shed-roof projection situated where the two wings meet. The door is to the right of the projection, to the left of which is a six-light window. To the right (southwest) of the entry projection is a gabled endwall with two, symmetrically placed, eight-over-eight-light windows on the first floor and two, six-over-six-light windows on the second floor. Left of the enttyway is a one-car garage with an overhead door. A shed-roof dormer with two, six-light windows is set in the roof plane over the garage door. The southwest sidewall is dominated by a brick chimney that rises well above the roof eave, as well as several fu·st floor windows and a second-floor, shed roof dormer to the right of the chimney. The northeast-facing gabled endwall is also defmed by returns in addition to a single, centered first and second-level window. The house associated with this property is evident on a 1937 aerial image, which suggests it was likely built a year or two before. The present owner of the house, Ronald and Barbara Michelman, stated that he believed it was erected by a man named Christiansen in circa 1938 - which is generally consistent with the actual construction date. He further stated that his abstract acknowledged the house was built on a lot platted in circa 1932 by the adjacent Meadowbrook Country Club." -"CTH MM (Green Bay Road), Racine S 7.5' Quadrangle to Racine N 7.5' Quadrangle", WisDOT 2808-00-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd.
