NOTES
Additional Information:Dietrich Miller immigrated from Germany, Sophia was a Wisconsin native with German-born parents. Their farm was characterized as a general farm. Their son Emil and his wife Lillian took over the farm and later passed it down to their son Gordon.

2015- "This two-story, front-gabled, brick residence has a cut stone foundation. A one-and-one-half-story wing projects from the
primary (south) elevation. A frame addition also has been constructed on the west elevation of this wing, while a concrete block
addition has been built on its east elevation. Fenestration appears to be modern and, on the main block, rests on stone sills.
Window openings feature lintels consisting of double rows of rowlock brick topped with a row of header brick (interestingly,
these lintels are identical to those seen on N3343 CTH M (230636). As well, a row of soldier brick visually separates the
first and second levels. Historic period agricultural buildings on the property consist of a bank barn (230677), a concrete
block milk house, a small unidentified frame structure and a tile silo. The property also contains a number of pole farm utility
buildings; assessor records list a total of five agricultural pole structures.

The subject property has been owned by the Miller family since the late nineteenth centuty. Born in Germany in 1853, Dietrich
F. Miller immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of eleven. He purchased this 120-acre farm in 1878. On 17
April 1880, he married Wisconsin-native Sophia R. Nuttleman and they had a girl, Luella, on 16 February 1881. They later had
two sons, Arthur and Emil, and another daughter, Elsa. Their subject residence was built circa 1900. By 1910, son Emil was
operating the farm and Dietrich was working as a mason. The farm is characterized as a "general farm." Emil married Lillian
Oldenburg and the property was passed on to their son Gordon."
