Additional Information: | See AHI 229307 for main record of property. 2013- "This modest, two-story, circa-1890s, T -plan house [229307] rests on a stone foundation and is covered with clapboard siding. A one-story wing projects from the rear (east) elevation. A tripartite bay is located on the southern elevation and a one-story block is fitted into the northwestern juncture of the T-plan. A picture window on the front (west) facade departs from the home's typical display of regularly placed, one-over-one, double-hung sashes. Meanwhile, the farmstead features a circa-1880s basement barn [229308] that is constructed with a stone basement and covered with board siding. A wing addition extends to the south and a circa-1920s concrete silo is positioned to the northeast. The other two buildings are a garage and a frame granary. An 1875 plat map indicates that R. Clark lived on this 80-acre parcel. Gust Mohs had taken over the property by 1902 and held it into at least the early 1930s. It is unknown which of the two built the subject house. In 1941, the parcel was occupied by Henry Clemens." -"STH 23: CTH P (west) to STH 32 (east)", WisDOT #14440-19-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (Faltinson), 2013. |
