| Additional Information: | The two-story Tudor Revival school was constructed in 1932. It is of brick construction, resting on a raised brick foundation, with false half-timbering in the gable. The steeply-pitched gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles. The main entrance is a one-and-one-half story square that projects from main (south) facade. It has a flat roof with brick castellations topped with limestone coping. Small brick buttresses with limestone caps flank the entrance. Above the door are two original casement windows with transoms and a limestone name plate incised with: “Liberty Corners School, Dist No. 8 1932.” Windows on the raised basement are one-over-one, double-hung wood sash and appear to be original. Windows on the first floor are replacement casement windows. Stucco on the east side of the building has been replaced with vinyl. A c.1950 addition on the west side of the building is larger than the original school building. It has a side gable roof and is clad in vinyl. Windows in the basement are modern sliding, and on the first floor are modern casements. A double-door entrance is covered by a projecting front-gable roof supported by two-simple columns. A one-story Ranch house is associated with the property; however, it did not meet the survey criteria. |
