Additional Information: | 1 STORY ROCK FACED CONCRETE BLK GARAGE ADDITION TO REAR. POLYCHROME BRICK 2ND FLR W/BRICK PILASTERS W/STONE BASES & CAPSTONE COPING, AND ATTIC COURSE. WOOD SHINGLED PENT ROOF OVER VERTICAL BOARD SIDED 1ST FLR. CLIPPED CNR ENTRANCE. May 2001-This two story, commercial vernacular building appears to date from c. 1930. Brick veneer in a variety of shades ranging from brown to cream is found on the front façade and wraps partially around the sides. The rest of the facades exhibits random, coursed stone veneer. A parapet hides the flat roof and is topped with a smooth faced, stone coping enriched with scalloping, suggesting an Art Deco influence. Brick pilasters and a belt course of smooth faced stone add interest to the front façade, while a porthole window enlivens the west facing (side) façade. Both 1/1, double hung sash and single pane, awning windows appear. The first floor storefront was altered to current appearance before 1988 and displays board and batten siding, small fixed windows in reduced openings, and a dominant, wood shingled, pent roof. |
