| Additional Information: | This building was designed in 1960 by the architecture firm Tannebaum & Koehnen as the Golden Chicken restaurant. Giles Svehick owned both the building and business. Golden Chicken was open for three months when an explosion on 25 December 1960 damaged the kitchen and blew out all the windows. Albert Wong soon reopened the building as the Paradise Gardens Restaurant, which operated at least into the late 1970s. The Golden Chicken Restaurant on West Capitol Drive was constructed in 1960 and designed by the architects Tannenbaum and Koehnen. Golden Chicken was a popular chain restaurant and diner in the suburbs of Milwaukee during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. A few of their restaurant buildings were known for their modern architectural design. |
