OTHER AREA RANGER STATIONS HAVE SIMILAR DESIGNS BUILT THROUGH WPA PROGRAM BY CCC WORKERS WIDE OVERHANGING EAVES W [Date Cnst:CA (FLORENCE RANGER STATION OFFICE)]. Built in 1935 and remodeled in 1946, the Florence County Ranger Station (#279) has been used as an office, living quarters for the rangers, and a storage facility of fire equipment and hand tools. The two-story building features a concrete block foundation, a concrete block exterior, and an asphalt shingled roof. The interior is finished with plaster and paint. The general condition of the ranger station is fair. An associated building is a storage shed/former ranger cabin (26860). |
