Additional Information: | 2013- This clapboard-sided duplex is topped with a flared, hipped roof outfitted with a clipped-gabled dormer on the front (west) slope. An open, hipped-roof porch with clapboard porchwall and square posts defines the main facade; the porch also features modern scrollwork ornamentation. Other notable elements include a rusticated concrete-block foundation, plain wooden cornice and a tripartite bay located between the first and second floors on the north facade. This duplex was built before 1903 for William McDonald who was a foreman with the Morgan Company, a wood products firm. McDonald remained in the house until at least 1912 with William Nevitt owning the property in 1920. The building was the home of Dr. Paul Rogers in 1930, Clara Strange in 1940 and Paul Duex in 1950. |
