NOTES
Additional Information:2013- Similar in general form to the duplex at 1223 N. Main Street, this two-and-one-half-story, front-gabled example is sheathed with clapboard and a floor-dividing wooden band along with fishscale shingle gables. It rests on a rusticated concrete block foundation with the front entrance opening onto a modern, wooden entry stoop. A replacement picture window is positioned to the right (south) of the entrance. Fenestration consists primarily of one-over-one, double-hung sashes with several small, fixed examples also noted. Also noted as a duplex on Sanborn maps, city directories suggest that this building was constructed between 1908 and 1912 for real estate agent Charles M. Plummer. Laborer August Ludwig and his wife Frieda owned the property in 1920 with Frieda remaining alone at the house in the 1930s and 1940s. The house was owned by Leon Barter in 1951 and Anthony Gonsalves in 1960.
