Additional Information: | This 2-story Commercial Vernacular building was constructed c.1890 as the Bank of Jackson. It is rectangular in plan with a red brick exterior and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan. The building entrance is set near the west end of the south façade above which is the composite board foundation of a gabled awning that has since been removed. The entrance is comprised of a metal-framed glass door with a single sidelight and narrow transom, all of which appear to be mid-century additions. A large window comprised of three vertical, rectangular panes is east of the entrance. The second story is symmetrical in plan with a pair of single-pane fixed-sash windows with single-pane transoms at the center and two 1-over-1 windows set evenly on either side. All windows feature flat brick arches with concrete keystones. A denticulated metal cornice crowns the top of the façade. |
