Additional Information: | LARGE ROUND CNR TOWER W/FLAT ROOFDENTILLED EAVES W/SCROLL CUT DENTILLED BRACKETS OVER ROUND CNRS. PEDIMENTED GABLE W/PALLADIAN WINDOW W/KEYSTONE MOTIF. OVAL TOWER WINDOW W/KEYSTONE MOTIFS. MOULDED BELTCOURSE AND LINTELS. The general contractor was C.C. Fritz of Shawano. 2023: Resurveyed for the Franklin Street - W. Green Bay Street Residential Historic District DOE, the porch and balcony have replacement railings. August Anderson was a lumberman who served as vice president of the Wolf River Paper and Fiber Company. In 1899, he became the primary stockholder of the company’s newly built sulphite mill in Shawano. He later invested in the Schweers Hardware Company. The Anderson House is the best representation of the work of Chris C. Fritz. It was the first Shawano residence constructed by Fritz, who designed and/or constructed approximately fourteen buildings around the city, with his Queen Anne residences being the most notable. |
