It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Pumped irrigation water from lagoon to golf course until 1976. See AHI 220975 for main record of property. 2012- "Known as the "Witch's House," this rustic shelter is constructed with fieldstone and topped with a hipped roof. Half of the structure is open with the roof supported by heavy timber posts. The open portion is served by a fieldstone fireplace. The remaining half of the building is enclosed and access is gained via a wooden door. Three high window openings are outfitted with wood-paneled, protective doors. The enclosed space housed a water pump that moved irrigation water from the lagoon to the golf course." -"Petrifying Springs Park DOE", Signed by Michael E. Stevens, SHPO (2012). |
