Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Petrifying Springs Park" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2012- "This eighteen-hole golf course consists of grass tee boxes, fairways and greens. The terrain is rolling. Lines of trees separate parallel holes and grow in clusters on the course's steepest terrain. Sand bunkers primarily surround greens but a few exist along fairways. Paved cart paths run throughout the course. A pond (1976) is situated within a fairway near the clubhouse and several small open shelters are noted throughout the course. The course retains a significant degree of integrity with regard to length, configuration and design. Most original bunkers remain and few new ones have been introduced. One tee box has been redesigned and one original bunker removed. The layout of the original greens remains largely intact." -"Petrifying Springs Park DOE", Signed by Michael E. Stevens, SHPO (2012). |
