Additional Information: | This Queen Anne Gabled Ell house on the Pitzner Farmstead is set along the east side of CR D, north of Ranch Road. Its date of construction could not be confirmed in the WHPD or by county assessor records. It was built sometime before 1937. Material details could not be discerned from the road, but the 3-sided bay window and turned wood details on the front porch are distinctive of its style.
In the 1899 atlas, this property was depicted on an 80-acre parcel owned and homesteaded by Henry Pitzner. He was not listed in the atlas patrons’ directory (Foote 1899, 52). Mrs. W. Pitzner owned and homesteaded the 80-acre parcel in the 1919 atlas. In the 1937 aerial photograph, this farmstead, including the house and at least 4 barns/ag. buildings were evident here.
