NOTES
Additional Information:This astylistic/utilitarian one to six room school is set along the south side of Ranch Road, east of CR Din the indirect APE. The WHPD indicates this school was built in 1875, which could not be confirmed with county assessor records. It is clad in asbestos shingle siding. The roof is clad in metal. The front door and windows are replacement materials, and its possible windows on the front (north) elevation have been covered over. In the 1899 atlas, this school stood upon on a 34.5-acre parcel owned by N. Nutting, about 0.12 miles west of his homestead. Nutting was not listed in the atlas patrons’ directory (Foote 1899, 52). The school and homestead were both depicted on this 79.5-acre parcel owned by Carl Schildnerg in the 1919 atlas. The schoolhouse was depicted here in the 1937 aerial, with dense tree cover on the lot. When previously inventoried, this resource was found Potentially Eligible for the NRHP. As of 2023, this building has lost significant integrity. It is clad in asbestos shingle siding. The roof is clad in metal. The front door and windows are replacement materials, and its possible windows on the front (north) elevation have been covered over.
