Additional Information: | Early information on this circa-1900 property is scant. A general review of early city directories (which are not cross indexed by street) first cited Charles Grissman living at this residence in 1926. Charles was born in 1855 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, and married Mary Hecker; the couple had four children. He was employed as a cigar maker and a mason. Grissman died in 1937 and his sons Edward and George took over the subject property. Edward, an insurance agent, married Florence Whear in 1944 and moved to a different residence; George remained there until at least 1967. |
