Silo connected to barn below grade. 1993- "This large bank barn with attached concrete silo was constructed c.1915. The barn is rectangular in plan with a concrete foundation wall, board and batten siding, and an asphalt-shingled gambrel roof. The front elevation faces south and is symmetrical in plan with a central sliding barn door. A matching barn door is located in the center of the north elevation, creating a drive-through space through the center of the barn. Small, square windows are located at regular intervals along the top edge of the foundation wall on the east side. An earthen ramp leads to a sliding barn door at the center of the west elevation. Just north of this is a concrete silo that is attached near the northeast corner of the barn. The silo has a domed roof with a small ventilator and metal rungs up the east side; it is attached to the bank barn below grade so that silage can be accessed from the interior of the barn's lower level." - "CTH M, Cross Country Rd to Prairie Hill Rd", WisDOT ID #5992-09-81, Prepared by Gail Klein (2011). |
