Additional Information: | 2ND FLR WINDOWS W/ SEGMENTAL ARCH BRICK DENTILLED LINTELS 1ST FLR W/ CAST IRON COLUMNS BRICKWORK AND BRICKCORBELLED CORNICE The Krause Saloon is significant under Criterion C as a good example of commercial vernacular architecture in Merrill. The building was apparently constructed circa 1892, and housed the Krause Saloon as early as 1896. In 1912 it was known as the Schuester Saloon, and by 1930, it was known as Kudick's Bar, under the proprietorship of Minnie Kudick. The interior of this tavern is extremely intact, with many of its original fixtures. |
