Additional Information:WIDE OVERHANGING EAVES W/ EXPOSED RAFTER ENDS. 1ST FLR PORCH W/ BRICK SQUARE COLUMNS W/ CONCRETE BASES AND CAPS. PLAIN BRICK BALCONY W/ CONCRETE COPING. SYMMETRICAL FACADE W/ PAIRED AND GROUPED WINDOWS W/ CONCRETE SILLS. GARAGE (SAME PHOTO). THE CHAS. BRUCE HOUSE IS SIGNIFICANT UNDER CRITERION C AS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF ECLECTIC STYLE ARCHITECTURE REPRESENTED IN GEORGIAN REVIVAL AND PRAIRIE SCHOOL INFLUENCES. THIS HOUSE IS LISTED AS THE RESIDENCE OF CHAS. W. BRUCE AS EARLY AS 1936, AND HE REMAINS AT THIS ADDRESS AS LATE AS 1945. HE IS LISTED AS THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE MERRILL CEMETERY ASSOCIATION. MAY ALSO HAVE BEEN THE RESIDENCE OF PERCIVAL C. DALY, THE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE OLD MERRICK ELECTRIC LIGHT AND TRACTION CO., AND GRANDFATHER OF THE TELEVISION ACTRESS TYNE DALY OF "CAGNEY & LACY" FAME.
