Additional Information:ROUND ARCH 2ND FLR WINDOWS W/ BRICK LINTEL COURSE, ELABORATE BRICK CORBELLED CORNICE W/ ROUND ARCH MOIFS, EXOTIC SHAPED CORNICE W/ OGEE ARCH CNR & FRONT PANELS, ORIGINAL TRANSOMED STOREFRONT W/ CAST IRON COLUMNS. THE SKATTEBO SALOON IS SIGNIFICANT UNDER CRITERION C AS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF COMMERCIAL VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE IN MERRILL. THE SKATTEBO SALOON WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1896-97. IT WAS CONSTRUCTED BY THE LOCAL CONTRACTING FIRM HOUSE AND NELSON. SKATTEBO STAYS AT THIS ADDRESS UNTIL AS LATE AS 1905. BY 1912 THIS WAS THE LOCATION OF IGNATZ FRISCH'S SALOON. DESPITE THE DIFFICULT TIMES OF THE PROHIBITION, FRISCH'S REMAINED AT THIS LOCATION AS LATE AS 1945.
