Additional Information: | Photo code #2: 75BR-4/30 Neo-Classical Revival school built in 1920 with a larger, two story addition built in 1950 to south. Neo-Classical inspired symmetrical, three story facade facing south on South Norwood Avenue with rusticated full foundation rising from a concrete plinth and surmounted by a concrete water table. Projecting, full height entrance pavillion in center of facade with segmental arched entrance door with heavy concrete hoodmold above door surmounted by a freize with five small inset brick panels and an entablature above. Window groups either side of entrance pavillion contain five 9/1 light windows with floor window sill being a cement beltcourse that surrounds whole building. Window groups have cement enframement with first and second floor groups being separated by five inset brick panels. Second floor window lintels are a second concrete beltcourse which surrounds the building and demarcates the parapet of the flat roof above. Later addition built in 1950 with T plan. The windows are grouped in two story inset bays. |
