Additional Information: | SANBORN MAPS SHOW THAT THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1912 AND 1922 AND THAT IT REPLACED AN OLDER HOUSE ON THIS SITE. Joseph and Julia Neuberger constructed this home sometime between 1912 and 1922. Neuberger was born in Austria around 1878 and arrived in the United States two years later. He operated a tavern prior to Prohibition and switched to selling soft drinks after. Neuberger remained in the house until at least 1940. The house was owned in 1954 by Robert Leyer and Willard Smith in 1965. |
