Currie Park was established in 1918. The acquired land was initially used as Milwaukee County's first aviation field. When the airfield was moved to Cuday, the park developed a golf course on the property.
Currie Park contains an 18-hole golf course, maintenance area, and dog exercise park. The park has a rolled asphault curb and gutter drive, and deciduous and coniferous plantings. Currie Park is part of the Upper Menomonee Parkway.

Currie Park, established in 1919 by Milwaukee County, pre-dates the development of the later parkway plans and was eventually incorporated into the Upper Menominee River Parkway. The park originally served as Milwaukee County’s first airport, but was replaced in 1927 by the Currie Park Golf Course. By 1936, CCC workers completed pedestrian paths, a Pump-house, mechanical shelters, recreational areas, stonework, and golf course clubhouse in the park.
