NOTES
Additional Information:In 1915, John and Anna Pandl purchased Bentley’s Whitefish Bay Inn from George Bentley with the intentions of converting it into a full-service restaurant. The name of their new enterprise became Pandl’s Whitefish Bay Inn. The building’s porch was enclosed to become the main dining room. The Pandl’s constructed their home next to the restaurant in 1925. Anna continued managing the restaurant with the help of their two sons, George and Jack, after John’s death in 1932. Later, George left to establish his own restaurant nearby in Bayside leaving Jack to manage the restaurant with Anna supervising kitchen operations. Major remodeling in the late 1960s, changed the building’s exterior dramatically with the installation of wooden panels and half-timbers. Today, Pandl’s Whitefish Bay Inn is believed to be one of the oldest restaurants in Milwaukee County to still be operating in its original location.
