NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This one and a half-story astylistic utilitarian ranger station features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a concrete foundation, an artificial stone exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled multi-gabled roof. The interior is finished with plastered and painted walls, concrete and linoleum floors on the first story, and maple floors on the second. The exterior was painted and sandblasted and painted in 1987. The structure, which is in good condition, was built during the W.P.A./C.C.C. program. The Prentice Ranger Station has functioned as an office, a facility for storage, and living quarters since the date of its construction in 1936. The apartment as well as a large store room is located on the second floor. Five garage stalls are all in use for vehicle storage. The site is leased from villages until the year 2034. A building related to this structure is the carpenter's shop. (See Map Code 9/27).
