Additional Information: | Erwin Knoll, publisher of "The Progressive" magazine lived here at one time. 2016- "This house was built by Sjur Johnson, a farmer and landowner. Christ Johnson bought the house and farm in 1910 and it remained in the Johnson family until 1976. This simple farmhouse has hints of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture, a common look for rural houses from 1850-1880. This house has kept much of its original appearance for well over 100 years. it is now owned and cared for by Karlis and Amy Jean Janelsins." -"Historic McFarland: A Walking Tour" booklet, Third printing, published by the McFarland Historical Society, (March 2016). |
