Costing over $65,000 to build, the Hamilton Club stood in the shadow of the mine's headframes, surrounded by an impressive landscaped lawn. It housed, among other things, a library, auditorium, movie projectors, four bowling alleys and indoor plumbing. Although, it was only open to mine employees, their families and guests, that posed few problems -- virtually everyone in the city fit one or more of those categories."
