A careful analysis of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps clearly suggests that this building was NOT at its present site in 1898. A building with a shape that reflects that of this structure was in place by 1909 and it served as a saloon/restaurant. Sanborns further identify the building as a store in 1926 and as a restaurant in 1935. There is nothing about the appearance of the structure, however, with its newer windows and siding, that suggests it may be over 100 years old (comment dated 2015).
