| Additional Information: | Constructed c.1963, by the Shell Oil Company. The building was constructed using their standardized Ranch-style design. The Hometown Gas Station is rectangular in plan with a low-pitched front gable roof with overhanging eaves and decorative beams and large brick chimney. The roof on the side (north) elevation extends over a concrete walkway that leads to restrooms. The building is clad in a combination of brick and board and batten siding and has large plate glass windows on the front (east) facade. The interior features an office/sales area and two service bays. The service pumps located east of the building are sheltered by a flat roof canopy supported by metal posts that was likely added at a later date. 2025: Metal panel and aluminum siding has replaced previous brick and board-and-batten siding. Pumps have been removed from underneath flat roof canopy. |
