Additional Information: | 2012- This previously surveyed, two-story-tall, rectilinear plan commercial building has a brownstone-clad main facade that faces south onto Belknap St. Ave. while its side and rear elevations are clad in brown brick. This building was built in 1894 according to the City of Superior Assessor's records and in its original state it was a fine example of a larger Commercial Vernacular form building whose design displays well-crafted design elements that were influenced by the Richardsonian Romanesque Revival style. However, survey photos taken in 1983 shows that the building's main facade still retained its original first story store windows and doors at that time as well as its original two-over-two-light second story windows, but the second story ones have all now been replaced with smaller modern one-light windows and the three original entrance doors have now all been replaced or boarded over as well. -"USH 2 (Belknap St.)" WisDOT ID #8680-00-01 (71), Prepared by Timothy F.
