Additional Information: | Modest, streamlined building with flat roof and curved corner. Storefront windows and door appear to be modern replacements. Building currently serves as a dance studio. Interior has been remodeled to contain rehearsal spaces, dressing rooms, and offices. 2011, GLARC: " This 1-story building was constructed around 1946, most likely as a commercial retail building. The building is clad in buff-colored brick, and has a flat roof and parapet. The southeast corner of the building is curved, suggesting an Art Moderne influence. A continuous band of storefront windows line the south (street) and east facades. These windows, along with the entrance door, appear to be modern replacements. Immediately above the windows is a modern canvas awning. Above the awning, signing is affixed directly to the brickwork, reading "ACADEMY OF DANCE."" |
