Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. Interior murals painted by Ernst Hupeden, in the "folk-art" genre. The work was completed in December of 1899. The mural covers the entire interior of the building, including the ceiling. Hupeden is also responsible for the painting on the stage curtain. The Kohler Foundations purchased the building and began restoration in 1980. The building was given to Sauk County in 1982. |
