Additional Information: | The house is not indicated on the 1916 or 1920 Atlas of Sheboygan County; the popularity of the American Foursquare style suggests a construction date of ca. 1920-1930. 2013- "Resting on a stone foundation, this circa-1920s, two-and-one-half-story, American Foursquare house is sheathed with narrow clapboard. It rests on a fieldstone foundation and is topped with a hipped roof that features a prominent dormer outfitted with four plate-glass windows. Four wooden Tuscan columns support the flat-roof porch that runs the length of the main (east) facade. Fenestration consists of a pair of picture windows with leaded-glass transom on the main facade's first floor and one-over-one, double-hung sashes throughout the rest of the house. A garage is the only other building on the property. No farmstead footprint is noted on plats before 1916. In 1916, Hemy Krumrey (see discussion ofN6045 CTH E) sold this 100-acre parcel along with an adjacent property to Fred Luedke of Manitowoc County. Born in 1860, Luedke soon transferred the property to his son, Oscar (b. 1892) who remained the owner until at least 1941. Census records suggest that Oscar's sister Lottie and her husband Louis Fisher built the subject house sometime after 1920." Update 2020: Garage has been demolished |
