Constructed to house two boilers and other equipment necessary for the duplicate steam operated fog signals. The dock associated with the building was dismantled in 1898. A tower was added to the building in 1931 and a wood frame watch room was added to the west elevation of the building in the early 1960s. Use of the fog signal was discontinued in 1975 due to advancements in electronic navigational equipment. All of the original doors and windows were replaced sometime in the 1920s or 1930s.
