Additional Information:the Gordon Commons food service building is named for Edgar B. "Pop" Gordon, long-time head of University instruction in public school music. The Commons, opened in 1966, features a sunken courtyard to be viewed from two lower-level study halls, a bridge over Lake Street leading to Witte Halls, and promenades leading to Sellery, Witte, and Ogg Halls. The halls were designed by J. & G. Daverman & Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
