Additional Information: | The house was originally constructed in 1892 as a builder's spec house by Burke, Gether & Tweedy, landowners and developers in Whitefish Bay's early subdivisions. It was originally stucco and was built in the farmhouse-style. It was later sided with wood. In additional modifications over the years a porch was added to the front, which was subsequently enclosed. Upon its completion it was rented by Mr. G. A. Knebes, before being sold to William H. Sherman. James Allen was the next owner. Renovated in 1989 by Richard Sherer of Junge and Associates, who gave it its Victorian accents. |
