ORNATE CARVED AND STICKWORK CORNICE PANELS. SCROLL CUT AND CARVED BRACKETS. DIAMOND WINDOWS. 2019: This 2-story Queen Anne house was constructed in 1887. It is irregular in plan with a coursed stone foundation, clapboard and fish-scale shingle walls, and steeply-pitched, asphalt-shingled gable and hipped roofs. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in plan. A hipped-roof mass projects from the front elevation and contains a central dormer with a steeply-pitched gable roof; the dormer contains a pair of 1-over-1 windows with a decorative wood surround and an ornamental wood truss in the gable end. Below this, the façade of the projecting bay contains cutaway corners; the overhang at each corner features decorative paneling and curved brackets. Windows in the front bay consist of a pair of tall, narrow 2-over-2 windows at the front with individual 2-over-2 windows at the cutaway corners. Decorative wood panels are located above and below the front windows. The front door is sheltered by a small entry porch that features a decorative wood frieze and squared wood supports. |
