Additional Information: | 2009- Constructed of Lannon stone, with unpainted stucco and half timbering in the gable ends. The original concrete tile roof was recently replaced with slate. Many of the original stained glass windows remain, as well as woodwork, doors, and tiling inside the house. Rooms were added above the garage in 1936. Wilshire Ave was previously called Michigan Ave and then Whitcomb Ave. Eastman was the president of the William O. Goodrich Co., as associate organization of the Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (ADM) group, of which he was a large stockholder. Eastman sold the home to Andrew and Edel Petersen by 1940. They in turn sold the home to the Taxman family c. 1956. In the early 1980's the house belonged to the Johnston/Caufield family (which included actress Kristen Johnston). |
