Additional Information: | ORIGINAL CHURCH BUILT IN 1872 OUT OF CREAM BRICK AND LARGE CREAM BRICK ADDITION ADDED IN 1905. CNR TOWER W/ OCTAGONAL PAVILION SPIREPOINTED ARCH STAINED GLASS WINDOWSBRICK CORBELLED CORNICEPOINTED ARCH TRANSOM OVER ENTRANCE W/ MITERED ARCH SURROUND ROUND WINDOWS AND CLOCKS IN TOWER St. Stephen's was founded in 1858 by German immigrant families. The congregation built a frame church on this site in 1867, replacing it with the west section of the current edifice in 1872. The building served as St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church until at least 1948. |
